Hey Baller,

this is Chris from Play Mentally Stronger! Welcome back at the halftime-break. Have you ever had moments where you as a player were lacking discipline as a player. Discipline is the key to reaching your highest potential on pitch. So, let's dive in and discover how you can cultivate discipline in your football journey!

SET GOALS

The first step in developing discipline as a professional football player is setting clear and ambitious goals.

There is 2 ways to set goals. 1st, use the SMART goal framework: make your goals Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, if your goal is to improve your shooting accuracy, set a specific target, measure your progress, and establish a timeline. Setting clear goals will give you direction and keep you focused. The 2nd method is to dream big again. Learn and start dreaming again. If Maradona, Pele, Messi, Ronaldo etc. would have set just SMART goals instead of dreaming big, they would have never, ever achieved, what they've achieved. But your dream needs to be highly emotional to you, otherwise this won't work.

CONSISTENCY

Consistent training. Discipline is built through consistent training and practice. Create a training routine and stick to it, even when you don't feel like it. Show up every day, put in the work, and push your limits. Whether it's endurance training, skill development, or tactical drills, consistent training builds discipline and elevates your performance.

RESILIENCE

Mental toughness. To excel as a professional football player, you need mental toughness and resilience. Develop strategies to overcome challenges and setbacks. Practice positive self-talk, visualize success, and stay focused on your goals. Build the mental fortitude to handle pressure situations and bounce back stronger after defeat.

 ACCOUNTABILITY & SUPPORT

Accountability and support are vital in maintaining discipline as a professional football player. Surround yourself with a strong support system, including coaches, teammates, and mentors who share your dedication and drive. Hold yourself accountable to your goals and seek constructive feedback to continuously improve. Together, you can push each other to new heights.

CONCLUSION

Developing discipline as a professional football player is a journey that requires setting clear goals, consistent training, mental toughness, and a supportive environment.

Remember, discipline is what sets champions apart. Embrace the process, stay committed, and never stop striving for excellence. Your hard work and dedication will pay off, both on and off pitch!

Now, go out there and show the world what discipline can do. Until next time, keep pushing your boundaries, keep honing your skills, and keep living the football dream!

Play Mentally Stronger, I'm ready to serve you, whenever you're.

See you next time,

Chris
